Location: The center of a roundabout. Fort Collins, Colorado
Instrument: Tenor saxophone

Notes: (Documented while traveling in the Fall, 2015 Bad Luck duo national tour).

We had about 4 hours this morning of free time before heading back out onto the road. I took this opportunity to practice for couple hours, and found a beautiful spot in the sunshine in the middle of a roundabout in the neighborhood we were staying in. I documented this piece towards the end of my practice session.

I recorded this improvisation inside a parking garage near the Salt Lake Temple (the great Mormon Church). This piece was documented just before going on stage inside a record store with a far different social demographic than that represented just a few street over.

Location: The loading dock at the Columbia Basin College performance theatre.
Instrument: Tenor saxophone

Notes: (Documented while traveling in the Fall, 2015 Bad Luck duo national tour).

Shortly after finishing up a performance at Columbia Basin College we began loading our gear back into my car. In the room next to the loading dock was a community college marching band practicing a medley of pop-rock hits. I recorded this improvisation in the loading dock next to the door which would have entered into this rehearsal room.
