Neil Welch Continuous Resonance Solo Project
Date: 08/11/2015
Location: A neighborhood suburb of Redmond, WA
Instrument: Tenor saxophone
Notes:
This improvisation was recorded in a suburb of Redmond in a cookie-cutter neighborhood. I had about an hour between students and found myself obsessed with the sterile, tepid environment of this neighborhood, which was surrounded by the lush green forests and marshland typical of this area. I set up my recording gear on a strip of immaculately manicured lawn that separated the sidewalk and the road. Washington is currently in a state of drought due to a lack of rain and the past Winterâs light snow pack, but every yard in this 200+ housing development had a lush green yard out front.
The image accompanying today’s post shows the neighborhood which I recorded in.
